The Oxford University Clinical Research Unit, Hanoi, Viet Nam is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, analytically-minded epidemiologist, preferably with a clinical background and with sufficient experience in field, clinical and computational epidemiology to develop, lead, and collaborate on an array of scientific and clinical studies at OUCRU-VN.
The focus of the post will be to contribute to ongoing projects as well as to initiate and develop an epidemiological research programme within OUCRU Ha Noi. You should be interested in fundamental epidemiological questions in infectious disease in a tropical setting, disease dynamics, surveillance, pathogen evolution, pathogen interactions, and/or spatial epidemiology.
The main research topics in OUCRU Hanoi, are influenza and antimicrobial resistance. You will be encouraged to leverage OUCRU’s current expertise and to establish collaborations across OUCRU-VN, quickly become the “go-to” person for epidemiological questions, in addition to growing your own interdisciplinary and translation research group and programme.
Your duties will include developing and running research projects, producing original peer reviewed scientific publications, presenting research on an international scale and mentoring PhD students and other researchers.
You will have a PhD focused in clinical epidemiology, or another field at the intersection of the life and data sciences, experience designing and delivering field-based research studies, excellent communication skills, a proven ability to work collaboratively and a strong publication record.
This position is available on a full-time basis for a fixed-term of 3 years in the first instance.
