As part of the Center for Communication Programs’ (JHU·CCP) Knowledge Management (KM) Unit, the Program Specialist works across the JHU·CCP to provide assistance, and technical support while facilitating product ownership of the Global Health eLearning Center and other Knowledge for Health (K4Health) eLearning initiatives. The Program Specialist also contributes to special projects and initiatives on an as needed basis. Is responsible for supporting one or more of JHU·CCP’s projects with technical, programmatic, and administrative assistance. Provides the day-to-day problem solving, technical input, writing and editing, and procurement processing projects or programs may require. As part of the Knowledge Management (KM) Unit, fulfills technical, administrative and operational roles to ensure a smooth integration within global and field programs, and between CCP, partners and projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to prioritize and take on challenging initiatives, organized, and comfortable working independently in a complex environment.
Other core qualities include a strong work ethic, resourcefulness, inquisitiveness, and a strategic ability to work well with a diverse group of colleagues. Demonstrates a comfort with learning new technologies and coaching others to do the same, as well as a solid background in health communication theory, knowledge management, competency-based learning, eLearning methodologies, and/or instructional design desired. Should also have the ability, in collaboration with staff experts, to interpret and synthesize M&E findings into programmatic application across a diverse set of health areas. Under the K4Health project, will work closely with the Global Health eLearning Center (GHeL) team to ensure audience needs are met. GHeL allows USAID and its partners to strengthen the knowledge base of public health practitioners with the ultimate goal of increasing the use and dissemination of evidence-based, accurate and up-to-date information to improve health service delivery and health outcomes worldwide.
