Global Health Trials is collaborating with the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia to conduct a one-day skills sharing research workshop in Lima, Peru, on the 11th June 2014.

Global Health Trials' workshop series aims to bring together researchers working in all roles within the research team, and all types of research, to share experiences and discuss how to develop local capacity. The workshops are always free to attend, with lunch included. The whole research team is invited, whatever your role in research.

The Lima workshop will take place on 11 June at the Melia Hotel in San Isidro. Although the workshop is free, prior registration is essential due to limited spaces. To register, send your name, job title, and place of work to info@globalhealthtrials.org. Travel expenses and per diems are not covered (which allows us to continue to run these workshops for free).

The workshop benefits from a range of high-profile speakers, and will cover a range of important topics including:

 Clinical studies versus Clinical Trials. Definitions, regulations, standards
 Training and capacity building in health research in Peru
 Practical options for developing in-house data management capacity
 Promoting responsible research conduct and regulatory compliance in Peru
 Health research in Peru.
 How can we sustain experienced clinical research teams in non-commercial institutions?
 Global Health Trials aiding career development in resource-poor settings
 Appropriate delegation of the Sponsor's responsibilities in investigator-led clinical research
 Monitoring and quality control

A write-up of the workshop will be available on Global Health Trials, with slides also available. You can download the workshop poster on this page.
Please share this opportunity widely!

Global Health Trials is also running workshops this year in Honduras, Ghana, Zambia and South Africa. Keep an eye on the website for more information!

    Dear Ruth

Thank you for your question. We do run these workshops all around the world with different groups, including in Uganda. The workshops are run by our regional faculties, which are open groups which anyone can join, as long as you can donate a little time to help to build research capacity locally. Have a look at our 'Get Involved' page https://globalhealthtrials.tghn.org/get-involved/ pages to see how to contribute to Global Health Trials, including joining a faculty or running a workshop.

Also, keep in touch by checking Global Health Trials regularly for updates on new workshops which might be in your area!

    Kind regards
    The Editorial Team
