I'd like to hear which different approaches are being taken in terms of resolving discrepancies - especially when doing double data entry.

I have recently started in a new job and inherited two fairly large MS Access databases, one for first- and another for second-entry. I guess there is a variety of ways these two could be compared and the differences resolved - what do you guys suggest?
(The trick is to distinguish which differences are relevant - The difference between "Tom Jones" and "TOM JONES" would probably not be worth spending a lot of effort on correcting?)

We have been using Access for our trials but that is not too good and does not work well for secure and valid data based. We need to try and meet data standards. The exchanges here are good. Does someone have any training material for data entry and double data entry? we are going to look at openclinica

Sorry, go to "utilities" on the main bar menu of Epiinfo to find data compare

Samuel , Do you have Epiinfo software? It is a free software for carrying out Epidemiological studies and it is developed by CDC(centre for disease control). Just google Epiinfo download and you download and Install the program. On the bar manu under tools is a great application for comparing two data sets. it is called Data compare. Use it and you should be able to enjoy comparing those two access databases. If the databases are passworded, first undo the password before doing the compare and then reset the password again after resolving the queries. I hope this helps you
