Journalists from low/middle income countries are invited to apply: travel, expenses, registrationJournalists from low and middle income countries are invited to apply for support for travel, expenses and registration to attend a major global conference on health systems research, to be held in Beijing: 31 October to 3 November 2012. Leading experts and speakers from across the world will be participating in the ground-breaking meeting centred on the theme of Inclusion and Innovation towards Universal Health Coverage and which will showcase research on the way health systems do and don't work. The meeting, the 2nd Global Symposium on Health Systems Research, is being hosted by the Peking University Health Science Center, and co-sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) through the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research and Special Programme for Research PLEASE NOTE: 31 August, 2012 is the deadline for applications. Call for Applications: TDR Clinical Research & Development FellowshipsResearchers from low and middle income countries (LMICs) are invited to apply for the fourth round of the WHO/TDR Career Development Fellowship (CDF) on clinical research & development (clinical R&D). Successful candidates will be placed with leading product development institutions, including pharmaceutical companies that are participating in the fellowship programme (“host institutions”). The goal is to develop human resources to promote high quality clinical R&D in LMICs. It is expected that qualified professionals will enhance LMICs’ product development capacity on diagnostics, drugs and vaccines for infectious diseases that disproportionately affect poor and marginalized populations. All applications must be received by 7th October 2012 at the latest.

World Gastroenterology OrganisationThis links to the website of the World Gastroenterology Organisation, who have training courses across South America, and in Thailand and South Africa. The WGO is a federation of over 110 national gastroentereolgoy societies across the world. The site also offers an extensive, multi-language library of gastroenteregoloy guidelines for various diseases and health conditions, with links to resources and other articles.
