On the 6th February 2015, the South African Faculty of Global Health Trials, was privileged to host Professor Karen Barnes. She shared her insights into the value of Data Safety Monitoring Boards. Professor Barnes and her team at the Malaria Clinical Research Group (UCT, Division of Clinical Pharmacology), kindly donated an example of a DSMB/IDMC Charter and the presentation. This can be used to facilitate local level discussions on Data Safety Monitoring Boards and as a template.
