NAMRU-6 | Research Administration Officer/ Research Integrity Officer | Peru | Roxana served at NAMRU-6 for more than 30 years and in the role of Director of Research Administration since 2005. Her experience spans from IRB member training to program oversight and monitoring, assisting the institution and other institutions in Peru in the development of their institutional policies and educational programs in areas of human subjects protection, scientific integrity and care and use of animals. She has participated as NIH grant reviewer and is a frequent lecturer at master’s programs and professional associations in the topics of human subject protection and overall research integrity, in Peru and in other countries in Latin America. She has also graduated as an attorney and has completed a Masters in Bioethics and a Masters in Epidemiological Research. |

He worked as a WHO/TDR Tropical Disease Clinical Research and Development Fellow, and has also pioneered the formation of Nigeria Regional Faculty of The Global Health Trials Network in 2012. His Global Health activities include but are not limited to: the organization of yearly National Clinical Research Capacity Development workshops in Nigeria, leading weekly e-learning clinical research capacity development courses in Nine Institutions within Abuja and eleven institutions in other states in Nigeria, organising biostatistics workshops, and forming research networks for health care workers across Nigeria. He has been the face of TGHN in Abuja and Nigeria, recruiting over 500 researchers to the platform. |

Lecturer | Nigeria | Yetunde teaches at the Department of Health Promotion and Education, Faculty of Public Health, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (UI), and has a MPH (UI) and PhD (National University of Ireland, Galway). She has had training in adolescent sexual and reproductive health research (Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research, WHO). Taking up a faculty position at the UI created a pathway for teaching and training prospective leaders in public health. These created an opportunity to collaborate with two other colleagues, Dr. Tope Erinosho from the University of South Carolina, USA and Dr. Mojisola Oluwasanu (UI) to start a doctoral student journal club that meets monthly to keep students abreast of recent research in public health, engage them in critical discussions of research methodologies, critique of research articles to enhance their research and analytical strength and collaborate on development of research proposals. Her passion in helping and building the capacity of young researchers and/or scholars to excel in their chosen career/research path also links to my research interests in children and young people’s health, and methodologies for Health Promotion research. |

Joby was nominated for the "Best Research Nurse Award" in 2014. His interest is not limited to writing protocols, conducting investigator driven studies and patient centeric projects. Joby has successfully organized skills sharing workshops in major cities like Mumbai, Gujarat, and Bhopal. Research Capacity development, networking and collaborations are his key interests to explore research among healthcare professionals. Joby has also conducted Regional competitions among student nurses to explore and nurture research from the grassroots. Jackeline Alger | UNAH: Scientific Research Unit, Faculty of Medical Sciences UNAH | Faculty member at the Faculty of Medical Sciences UNAH | Honduras | Jackeline is a Parasitologist working in the Department of Clinical Laboratory at University Hospital in Tegucigalpa, the main public health hospital in Honduras. She is also a faculty member in the Research Unit of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras, an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Tulane School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine (SPHTM) in New Orleans, and a board member of the Instituto de Enfermedades Infecciosas y Parasitologia Antonio Vidal—a non-profit organization devoted to training, advising, and conducting research in the field of infectious diseases. In addition to my work as a scientist and teacher, I am strongly committed to making sustainable health research a national priority and to strengthen the capacity for research and innovation in Honduras. | |
Elizabeth Allen | UCT Collaborating Centre for Optimising Antimalarial Therapy | Head of Clinical Research | South Africa | Elizabeth leads clinical research operations and methodology research (primarily in the field of pharmacovigilance) for CCOAT, which is based in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Cape Town. A pivotal part of my role is as scientific coordinator for the World Wide Antimalarial Resistance Network (www.wwarn.org) where I focus on antimalarial clinical trial capacity development and pharmacovigilance activities.
