Site Initiation Visit

Before recruitment begins it is a good idea to check that all processes have been completed and to validate all previous steps. A site initiation visit should then be conducted. This may be done by the sponsor or their contract research organisation. Alternatively, it may be completed by the study manager depending on what was outlined in the protocol and QA plan.
