Complex realities: community engagement for a paediatric randomized controlled malaria vaccine trial in Kilifi, Kenya is an interesting new paper published this month in Trials. You can read the full article here: http://www.trialsjournal.com/content/15/1/65
The paper reports on over 150 instances of community engagement activities performed at three sites during a malaria vaccine trial in Kilifi, Kenya. The activities were evaluated using survey data, interviews and focus groups, including looking at whether the community engagement activities affected participants' understanding of the nature of research.
Were you involved in this trial, perhaps in Kenya or in any of the other countries it ran in? Or have you been involved in community engagement in other locations or disease areas? What do you think about the findings of the paper?
