The South African Clinical Trials Association has issued a call for abstracts. SACRA Conference 2014: “Stepping Up – raising the bar in the conduct of research in South Africa” will take place on 4th and 5th Sept 2014. Deadline for Abstract/Summary Submission: 04 May 2014 Call for Papers SACRA encourages both oral presentations and poster presentations for this year’s conference. All willing speakers with no defined topics and speakers who already have a topic ready to present are encouraged to submit their names or abstracts. Background/Purpose The primary goal of any form of research is reliable and valid data. Maintaining accuracy and quality throughout a clinical study is a continual, dynamic process. The ongoing challenge in managing the quality of clinical data is to continually monitor data collection procedures and data management practices at every level of the study. This year’s conference will be the 6th biennial conference hosted by SACRA. This year’s theme aims to highlight the role of continually working at keeping ahead in the clinical research industry. Keynote speakers will be chosen to convey this message. The conference will also host numerous parallel sessions which aim to provide practical training for delegates. Submissions are invited on any issue related to the purpose of this year’s conference as expressed above. An abstract or summary of the talk/poster should be sent as a word document to: tebogo.sebata@pfizer.com and barbara@sacraza.com before 04 May 2014. http://www.sacraza.com/

Hi Joby, I believe so but you could email the organisers to check. However, as far as I know there aren't international travel awards available so if you wanted to attend you or your work would need to fund your travel. If this is not possible, why don't you have a look at the American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene conference, which has lots of travel scholarships available? You could apply to these (but I think the deadline might be approaching, so you will have to be quick!).

    Kind regards
