About: He is a public health professional and medical expert based in Kabul, Afghanistan, with extensive experience in health management, epidemiology, surveillance, and public health systems. He graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Kabul University in 1989 and later earned his medical degree from Kabul University of Medical Science in 2003. In 2006, he completed his MSc in Health Policy and Management (HPM) from Aga Khan University and further enhanced his expertise by completing the advanced Pakistan Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (FELTP) at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Islamabad, Pakistan. Currently, he serves as Technical Advisor for the Field Epidemiology Training Program at the Afghanistan National Public Health Institute (ANPHI) under the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Kabul, deployed by EMPHNET while also serving as part of EMPHNET’s Afghanistan Office staff. Throughout his career, he has held several senior positions within the Ministry of Public Health, including HMIS Officer, Director for Public Health Training, Director for Surveillance, and Head of the Grant and Contract Management Unit (GCMU) for health service procurement. Dr. Saeed possesses strong skills in computer applications, Epi Info, SPSS, and Microsoft Office, along with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities. He has co-authored more than 70 publications in national and international journals and has contributed significantly to public health knowledge through research development and implementation. Additionally, he authored the locally published book “Introduction to Health Management,” which has been published three times, and translated the book “Principles of Epidemiology in Public Health Practice” into national languages.
