Aissata BARRY

About: I am a young scientist currently posted within the CNRFP since five years. I have been involved as clinical investigator in several trials conducted by my institution in collaboration with …, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and Radboud university medical center in The Netherlands (Radboudumc). Since last year, I had the chance to be enrolled in an exciting PhD training program with supervision from Radboudumc in close collaboration with the group of professor Chris Drakeley at LSHTM. My PhD work aims to improve the understanding of the malaria infectious reservoir with specific focus on cohort studies to determine the production and infectivity of malaria transmission stages (gametocytes). The ultimate aim is to help design and implement malaria transmission reduction interventions that will be pivotal towards the elimination of malaria.
