PRACTIHC

The PRACTIHC Collaboration

About: The Practihc project developed a set of self-contained teaching materials and these materials are accessible via the Trial Protocol Tool. These materials have been used in three training workshops and were positively received by both participants and teachers. Practihc has also developed a unique tool called the Clinical Trial Simulator that supports the planning of randomised controlled trials by allowing users to vary factors such as sample size, loss to follow-up and compliance. There is now a Clinical Trial Simulator website (www.randomization.org), which gives the current version for download along with general information and tutorials. The Trial Simulator is also an excellent teaching tool, showing graphically the effects of varying trial parameters such as compliance and loss to follow- up. Access to the tool is also simple via the Trial Protocol Tool, again supporting the tool’s role as a portal to Practihc’s results.
