DR. FASAKIN KOLAWOLE ASIMIYU

About: I am the head/Chief Biomedical Lab. Scientist and HIV/Hepatitis researcher at the department of Haematology and Blood Transfusion, Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. I had my Ph.D in haematology in 2017 from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and have been involved in HIV/AIDS and hepatitis B & C Viruses research for over nearly 11 years and 7years respectively. I was an adjunct lecturer at Afe Babalola University from 2013-2017. My passion for optimal blood safety led to advancing my research to involve molecular studies for HIV and hepatitis B and C viruses’ diagnosis, and further certificate and postgraduate programs on epidemiology of diseases from University of Washington, USA (completed) and University of South Wales, UK respectively. Currently, I am a member of a number of professional groups, and also involved in two research groups in my institution which was pioneered for cross-fertilization & collaboration of researchers from clinical settings.
