Anastase DZUDIE

About: Dr Anastase DZUDIE, MD; PhD; FESC, a Cameroon-born internist and consultant cardiologist, is the head of cardiac intensive care and cardiac pacing unit at the Douala General Hospital, Cameroon. He is also a lecturer of cardiovascular medicine and research. Dr DZUDIE received his training in general medicine and internal medicine at the Yaounde faculty of medicine and biomedical sciences (ex-CUSS), University of Yaounde 1, Cameroon; before receiving further training in clinical cardiology at the Claude Bernard University in Lyon (France) where he acquired fellowships clinical cardiology, cardiac and vascular ultrasound, sports cardiology and also trained in cardiac pacing. He earned his PhD in cardiovascular medicine and research from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. His scientific contribution was acknowledged by election as a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology in 2012 and as one of the prestigious World Heart Federation Emerging Leaders in 2014. He is the scientific secretary of the Cameroon Cardiac Society, chair of the task force on hypertension of the Pan-African Society of Cardiology, Regional Editor of the Cardiovascular Journal of Africa and editorial board member for several journals. As a clnical researcher, he participated as PI in a number of multicentric and international studies including THESUS-HF, RELY AF, and PAPUCO I, BAHEF clinical trial, and EIGHT and is now participating in several others projects. He has co-authored more than 50 publications in peer reviewed journals his H-index as of December 2015 was around 14 and his Research Gate Score at 28.35. Dr DZUDIE has co-authored 3 chapters of the book “Heart of Africa”. His current research focus include systemic hypertension and clinical pathways from heart failure to pulmonary hypertension due to left heart disease.
