Hello everyone,
My name is Louisette and I am very new on this forum.I am a controller and a graduate student taking a research on the topic "Accountability, a key aspect of good governance in the implementation of healthcare projects in Cameroon".
I have difficulties searching keywords and locating relevant literature for my review so was wondering of there is anyone who can help me out with an expert search on this. I donot know if a lot has been written on the topic or not and whether it is relevant pursuing this research. I was also wondering if there were systematic reviews on this topic.
I would greatly appreciate assistance from anyone
Kind Regards
Louisette

Dear Dr. Innocent,
I have tried to search in the Cochran library using the guidelines you gave but it seem there is no systematic review related to my topic. I can also see from prof Ongolo Zogo that there is non as far as corruption is concern. In that case Dr. How can I know the global perspective of my topic. Does it mean that there is need for a systematic review on this? Apparently I will just have to google information on my topic and use for my review. What do you advise that I do?
Dr. Akindeh may also have a way forward for me.Thank you for your time

The reason why I am interested in a systematic review on this topic is to know whether failures in health systems could be due to accountability problems or rule of law or the other aspects of good governance so I could see which direction to take.
Thank you

Bonjour Mr. Fokeng,
Thank you for your input I very much appreciate your time. I have that paper which talks more about the importance of accountability, the role of health sector actors in accountability and accountability strategies. I am trying to look at a scenario where these accountability principles are not implemented to see the consequences.

Hi Louisette
Nice to meet your aquaintance. You have choosen a very important topic to research on. This is one of the pillars of health systems and required to be strong for the health system to be very responsoive to the demands of public health. I think you should use key words like governance AND health systems, accountabilityy AND governance, corruption in health systems in developing countries. You will find little about Cameroon in particular but african countries or developing countries have similarities they share also in the management challenges and accountability issues. You might wish to take a look at the report by Prof Ongolo Zogo at the cochrane library (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/14651858.CD008856/full) and other publications on the centre for best practices in Health based at the Central Hospital In Yaounde. I thin k Dr Lawrence Mbuagbaw can help with the links. Best wishes for your studies and please come back with what you find. You caan always email me if you have some difficulties with one thing or the other relating to this interesting work.
