In collaboration with the Global Laboratory Initiative for Africa (GLI-Africa), ASLM announces a special issue of the African Journal of Laboratory Medicine (AJLM) focused on strengthening tuberculosis (TB) diagnostic networks in Africa.
The primary goal of this special issue is to exchange information on the latest fundamental advances in local laboratory service-delivery networks working with TB diagnostics (improved case detection) and TB diagnosis (linkage to treatment).
We are interested not only in papers with strong algorithmic and modelling innovations, but also in work that is being done on biological models, application-oriented experimental implementations, and evaluations. Topics that will be considered for this special issue include, but are not limited to:• TB diagnostic advancements in Africa• eHealth in support of TB diagnostics• Impact of Ebola on TB diagnostic network• Impact of new TB diagnostics on TB control efforts• Sample referral and increased access to TB diagnosticsAJLM is the open-access scientific journal published by ASLM.
