Checklist for double data entry

• Data should be entered twice by two different people
• Double entry can be done in house or sent out to specialist companies
• Comparison of the two data entry sets is made to detect inconsistencies and identify queries
• These may be resolved in house but more often need to be sent back to the collaborator for resolution
• This is a gold standard.  A double entered sample may be sufficient
