HARP, HPV in Africa Research Partnership, is a Consortium of academic institutions aiming to provide rigorous evidence to guide cervical cancer screening programmes for women living with HIV in Africa.
As part of its aim to to improve cervical cancer prevention programmes for HIV–infected women in South Africa and Burkina Faso, HARP will be evaluating the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of alternative screening strategies, and by developing algorithms leading to earlier detection and management of cervical cancer in these high-risk populations. The website contains facts on cervical cancer in South Africa and Burkina Faso as well as information on screening of cervical cancer. A list of selected publications by the HARP team members has further information on cervical cancer and screening.
